Food production is part of the Department of Children and Education and consists of 28 kitchen units in Ekerö municipality's schools, preschools, and nursing homes. We have a total of 80 employees within Food Production, centrally led by a head chef and a deputy head chef.

We are looking for someone who plans and organizes their work in such a way that the love for the craft is evident to the diners. As a chef, you will be offered a varied job in a team where everyone helps with all tasks in the kitchen. To prepare good and safe meals for our diners, you need to be skilled and meticulous in your work. In the kitchen's daily routine, you will have various contacts with colleagues and diners, so it is important that you can communicate well in Swedish.
You are attentive to what your diners think and look forward to working with the head chef to develop the dining experience.
The position is full-time with daytime work and every other weekend.
In the kitchen, lunch and dinner are prepared for about 85 residents, as well as meal boxes for pickup by home care services.
You should be able to work according to established goals, guidelines, and financial frameworks. As an employee with us, we want you to be a good representative of Ekerö municipality and relate to the municipality's common values; engagement, communication, and professionalism.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should:
- Have a high school chef education, a relevant apprenticeship, or other qualifications that we assess as equivalent.
- Have good knowledge of various cooking techniques and common food allergies.
- Be self-sufficient and quality-conscious in your work.
- Meals are an important part of our residents' daily lives, and collaboration between the kitchen and other professions is the foundation of our operations, which is why we place great importance on your social and communicative skills.
- Since you will handle allergies, recipes, and ingredient lists, good knowledge of Swedish is required.
